Chapati - Crispbread Recipe

  • 250 gr grain spelled flour
  • 200 ml lukewarm water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tbsp oil


  1. Put salt and flour into a large bowl, slowly add the lukewarm water and mix.
  2. Remove the dough and knead for about 6 minutes on a smooth surface dusted with flour.
  3. Then spray the dough with a little water, wrap it in a cloth and place in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  4. After 1 hour remove the dough from the refrigerator, knead it again and form 12 balls. These balls are dusted with flour and rolled out with a rolling pin to about 18 cm thick, thin fillets.
  5. Place a pan (diameter 20 cm) on the stove and heat in 1 tsp of ghee. Once the fat is hot, place the first cake in the pan. Let it brown for 2-3 minutes from each side.
