Daal Tadka Recipe



Daal Tadka Ingredients:

  • Red lentils, half cup
  • Yellow moong dal, half cup
  • Water, 3 cups
  • Chopped tomato
  • Chopped onion, half
  • Minced garlic, 3 cloves
  • Minced ginger root, 1 tsp.
  • Cumin seeds, 1 tsp.
  • Turmeric, half teaspoon
  • Salt half tsp.

How to make Daal Tadka:

1. Add the first ingredients till salt, together in a pot and close the lid. Let it cook for 10 minutes at high pressure. Add additional 10 minutes before opening the lid.

2. Make sure lentils are cooked and  then till medium consistency, stir garam masala in it.

3. Let the lentils cook, take a pan and  add a little oil to it, when it is warm enough, put onions in it and stir them then add red flakes, cook till the onions are brown.

4. Serve the lentils with rice and top it  with the browned onion.
