Refried Beans


  • Olive oil, 1tablespoons
  • Onion, chopped 1cup
  • 1Garlic, minced
  • Green chilies, diced 4oz.
  • Salt, 1tablespoon
  • Cheese, grated for serving
  • Green onions, sliced thinly for serving


1- Put water that covers 2 inches and add beans in it.

2- Add olive oil to it and then close the lid over it. On higher temperature, cook it for 30 minutes.

3- Turn off the heat and wait till the pressure comes down to natural release.

4- After that, by opening the lid, add the onions, garlic, chilies and salt. Lock  the lid again and cook it for 10 minutes.

5- Remove the lid after the pressure has naturally released. Mash the beans till consistent.

6- Heat two tablespoon of olive oil in a pan, put the beans and cook it till desired consistency on low heat.

And then serve it.
