Roast Turkey Recipe

Why wait for Christmas when feasting upon a whole roast turkey is what you are craving at the moment? Simply drop in at the supermarket and fetch yourself a turkey along with thymes and Spanish onions. The rest of the ingredients, it is quite expected that you’ll have all stacked up in the fridge.

Before kick-starting with the cooking process, are you aware that Turkey is not just a powerhouse of flavor but contributes to a flourishing health as well, especially with its selenium content – the delicious bird is a natural antidote to Cancer.

Ingredients Required For The Recipe

1/4 pound (1 stick) unsalted butter
1 lemon, zested and juiced
1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme leaves
1 fresh turkey (10 to 12 pounds)
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1 large bunch fresh thyme
1 whole lemon, halved
1 Spanish onion, quartered
1 head garlic, halved crosswise

Facts apart, get on to your turkey by clearing out its giblets, pinfeathers and excess fat. Now melt some butter into a saucepan and add to it a spoon of fresh thyme, lemon juice and some zest of the same. Stuff up the cavity in the turkey with half cut lemon, a bunch of thyme, Spanish onion and garlic. Next, sprinkle a lot of regular seasoning and adding the butter mixture.

Now that you are done with your prep, pop the turkey into the oven to be slow-cooked for at least 2 ½ hours but make sure the tray is sealed with a foil. Let your bird rest once cooked and carve it for a fine dining experience at home.
