Round 2 (Raglan Division): 4 dc (Back), ch 2, 4 dc (Sleeve), ch 2, 8 dc (Front), ch 2, 4 dc (Sleeve), ch 2, 4 dc (Back). Continue increasing in the ch-2 chain spaces to build up the shoulders. Once the yoke is wide enough, skip the sleeve sections to isolate the armholes, and continue crocheting down the main body. Re-attach yarn at the armholes to finish the wide, cozy sleeves.
5. Ruffled Skirt (Cream and Pink) Ch 36–40 (enough to fit around the doll’s waist) and join into a ring. Work 2 rounds of double crochet increases (2 dc in each stitch) to give the skirt its voluminous, heavily ruffled shape. Use pink embroidery thread to stitch tiny 'X' marks or French knots onto the fabric to replicate the floral print. 6. Curly Hair Wig (Ginger/Auburn) Replicate the first 7 rounds of the Head pattern using ginger yarn until you have a 42 sc base circle. Making the Curls: Without cutting the yarn, Ch 40. Turn and work 3 sc into each chain loop (W) back to the base. This heavy increasing causes the strand to automatically spiral into tight curls. Repeat this process all around the edge and surfaces of the wig base to generate 25–30 long spiral curls. Sew the base securely to the head. 7. Headband & Big Bow (Sage Green) Headband: Ch 50–55 (measure against the doll’s head). Work 2 rows of hdc. Sew onto the head over the hair line. The Bow: Ch 15. Work 10 rows of hdc to create a neat rectangle. Edge the entire rectangle with cream-colored single crochets, and add tiny embroidered cream dots. Pinch the center tightly, wrap yarn around it to secure the bow shape, and sew it onto the headband.
Assembly and Facial Details Head and Body Connection: Insert a support stick (like a thick wire or silicone glue stick) into the neck to keep the heavy head stable. Line up the 18 stitches of the neck with the 18 stitches of the head and sew them securely. Facial Features: Using black embroidery thread, define the upper eye contour and add delicate, tilted eyelashes. Stitch a tiny nose just under the eyes with skin-colored yarn, and add a small mouth using pink thread. Cheeks: Apply a touch of actual cosmetic blush or pink pastel chalk to the cheeks for that signature rosy look.
