Materials Needed: Yarn: White/Cream, Grey, Pink (for the cheeks) and dark grey amigurumi yarn for the beak (Cotton yarns give the best results). Crochet Hook: Size appropriate for your yarn (usually 2.0 mm - 2.5 mm). Eyes: 8-10 mm safety eyes. Stuffing: Bead fiber. Other: Needle, scissors and stitch marker. ???? Step-by-Step Instructions: 1. Head and Body (One Piece or Two Pieces) The head and body appear to be joined in the picture, but if you are a beginner, you can crochet them separately and sew them together. Start with a magic ring. Adjust the width of the head by increasing in each row (6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42...). After crocheting a few rows without increasing, gradually start decreasing to give the head its shape. For the torso, increase the stitches again at the bottom to create a wider form (abdominal area) and then close it off last.
2. Wings (2 Pieces) The wings have a layered look. Start with gray yarn. Shape into an oval or teardrop shape. Ruffle detail: You can create the wavy look shown in the picture by making multiple double crochet stitches in the same hole with white yarn at the ends of the wings.
3. Comb (Feathers on Top) These are actually 4-5 separate, long, braided feathers. Chain stitches and then crochet single crochet and half double crochet stitches to create pointed, thick-based pieces, which you can then sew onto the top of the head. 4. Beak and Feet Beak: Crochet a small cone with gray yarn. You can make two small pieces, an upper and lower beak, and join them together. Feet: Crochet 3 small "fingers" (small balls or cylinders) with gray yarn and join them together to form claws.
5. Cheeks (2 Pieces) Using pink yarn, make 6 single crochet stitches into a magic ring. In the second row, crochet two stitches into each stitch until you reach 12 stitches, then finish. ✨ Tips Knit Tightly: Keep your hand tight or use a small crochet hook so that the stuffing inside is not visible. Face Expression: Leave 8-10 stitches between the eyes when attaching them. You can add the eyelash detail later using a needle and thin black yarn. Assembly: Before sewing the pieces together, secure them with pins to check for symmetry.
