1. Materials List Yarn: Cotton or acrylic medium-weight yarn (For the vibrant colors in the image: orange, fuchsia, light green, royal blue, yellow). Crochet Hook: Size appropriate for your yarn (usually 3.0 mm or 3.5 mm). Base: A 30-40 cm diameter polystyrene, metal, or wicker door ring. Other: Silicone gun (to secure the flowers), scissors, needle. 2. Basic Flower Construction (Layered Pattern) Most of the large flowers in the image are made using the "embossed leaf" technique. A general large flower pattern is as follows: Center (Head): Make 12 double crochet stitches into a magic ring and close the ring. Change color (white or a contrasting color). Make a total of 24 single crochet stitches, double crocheting into each stitch.
Leaves (Layer 1): Chain 3, skip one stitch, and then single crochet into the next stitch. Continue this process to create 6 or 8 spaces. In each space, work: 1 single crochet, 1 half double crochet, 3 double crochets, 1 half double crochet, 1 single crochet to complete the first row of leaves. Embossing and Enlargement (Layer 2): Working from the back of the flower, create wider chain spaces (e.g., 5 chains) to attach to the bases of the previous leaves. Work more double crochets (5 or 6 double crochets) into these new spaces to enlarge the leaves. Tip: Some flowers in the image appear fuller. To achieve this, you can pull the stitches a little longer or add a "popcorn" stitch.
3. Making the Leaves Use a simple leaf shape for the green parts: Chain 10 stitches. On the chain, work in the following order: 1 single crochet, 1 half double crochet, 4 double crochets, 1 half double crochet, 1 single crochet. Repeat this process symmetrically on the other side of the chain. 4. Joining After crocheting the flowers, follow these steps: Covering the Ring: If your ring looks unsightly, first cover the entire ring with green or neutral yarn using single crochet or by wrapping the yarn around the hook. Placement: First, place the largest flowers evenly as shown in the image (at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions). Filling the Gaps: Place smaller buds and green leaves between the larger flowers. Securement: Once you are satisfied with the placement, secure the flowers to the ring with hot silicone or by tying them with strings from the back.
A Little Tip: Some of the flowers in the image have different color details in their centers. For example, the white part in the center of the blue flower gives it a "daisy" appearance. If you use puff stitches when making these parts, you will get a more three-dimensional look.
