(Start decreasing to form the head shape) [Eye Placement]: Insert safety eyes between specific rounds (e.g., R14-R15), spaced apart by a certain number of stitches (e.g., 8 sts).
5. Hat (Red and Cream Yarn) The hat starts with the cream-colored ribbed/foldable cuff at the bottom, and the top section continues in red. Cream Brim Section: Using cream velvet yarn, chain a length that fits around the head circumference (e.g., 10-12 chains) and work vertical rows of single crochets (using the BLO method to create a ribbed effect), then join the ends to form a loop. Red Top Section: Pick up stitches from one edge of the cream brim using Red yarn. Round 1: Evenly pick up and work single crochets or half double crochets around the edge (e.g., total 48 stitches). Rounds 2-7: Continue working straight with red yarn (maintaining 48 stitches per round). Round 8: (6 single crochets, 1 decrease) all around. Round 9: (5 single crochets, 1 decrease) Round 10: (4 single crochets, 1 decrease) Round 11: (3 single crochets, 1 decrease) Round 12: (2 single crochets, 1 decrease) and pull remaining stitches tight to close. Pom-Pom: Make a large pom-pom using cream yarn and firmly attach it to the top of the hat. 6. Scarf (Red and White Yarn) Start with red velvet yarn. Row 1: Chain 8-10, starting from the second chain from the hook, work back with single crochets or half double crochets. Create color stripes by switching yarns: 10 rows Red 4 rows White 6 rows Red 4 rows White, and repeat until the scarf reaches the desired length (long enough to wrap around the neck, approx. 35-40 cm). Add white fringe tassels to both ends.
7. Snowflake Embroidery and Embellishments Embroideries: White fine cotton yarn is used to stitch snowflake motifs onto the hat, the scarf, and the front of the boots/feet. Thread a tapestry needle with white cotton yarn. First, stitch a small cross (+) or star shape intersecting in the center. Add tiny "V" shaped ticks at the ends of each line to complete the snowflake form. Holly Leaf Detail on the Hat: Green Leaves: Using green cotton yarn, crochet small leaf motifs (chain and work sc and double crochets around to shape leaves). Red Berries: Crochet 3 tiny balls using red yarn in magic rings and sew them in the middle of the leaves, attaching the piece to the side of the hat. Cheeks: Apply a light pink blush or pastel chalk gently right below the eyes. 8. Assembly Guide Body & Head: Align the bottom of the head to the top neck opening of the body and sew securely all the way around using matching sewing thread (you can insert a thick stick or firm stuffing inside the neck to keep the head stable). Legs: Sew the legs symmetrically to the lower sides of the body so the snowman can sit upright. Arms: Sew the arms firmly to the upper sides of the body, just below the neck line. Buttons: Sew 2 wooden buttons vertically onto the center front of the body using needle and thread. Scarf & Hat: Wrap the scarf around the snowman's neck, letting one end hang forward as seen in the photo. Place the hat on the head and secure it in place with a few hidden stitches so it won't slip off.
