Foody DaD is a video Center
Materials List Yarn: Thick macramé yarn, t-shirt yarn, or a sturdy cotton yarn that holds its shape well (Avoid overly soft yarns so the organizer remains rigid and structured). Colors: Dark brown (For the center circle) Vibrant yellow (For the petals, hanging loop, and pockets) Crochet Hook: Appropriate for your yarn thickness (Generally between 3.5 mm - 4.5 mm) Extra Materials: Scissors, tapestry needle (for sewing pieces and weaving in ends), optional cardboard or plastic sheet for extra backing support. ???? 1. Main Body (Brown Circular Base) The center is worked in rounds using double crochet (dc) stitches. Round 1: Make a magic ring and work 12 Double Crochets (dc) into it, join with a slip stitch. (12 stitches) Round 2: Work 2 dc in each stitch around. Total: 24 dc. Round 3: (1 dc, 1 increase) repeat around. Total: 36 dc. Round 4: (2 dc, 1 increase) repeat around. Total: 48 dc. Round 5: (3 dc, 1 increase) repeat around. Total: 60 dc. Round 6 and Beyond: Continue expanding the circle by increasing the number of single stitches between increases by 1 each round (e.g., 4 dc, 1 increase, then 5 dc, 1 increase, etc.) until the circle reaches the desired size (approx. 25-30 cm in diameter). Ensure your increases are evenly spaced to keep the circle flat.
???? 2. Yellow Petals (Border Motifs) The yellow petals are either worked directly onto the outer edge of the brown base or made separately and sewn on. Petal Construction: Attach the yellow yarn to the edge of the brown circle. Create foundation loops/spaces around the perimeter. Work each petal by building up height using double crochets, treble crochets, and shaping them into pointed triangular pyramids (tapering at the tips). Continue this all the way around the circle until every petal is evenly formed. ???? 3. Pockets (The 4 Front Holders) The image features 4 cylindrical pockets lined up at the front. These are crocheted separately and then sewn onto the main body. Pocket Base: Start with a magic ring and work 6 Single Crochets (sc). Round 2: Work 2 sc in each stitch (12 sc). Round 3: (1 sc, 1 increase) for a total of 18 sc (The base size determines the width of the pocket). Pocket Body: Once the flat base is complete, continue working in rounds without increasing (you can work through the back loops only (BLO) for a sharp base edge, or normally) upward until it reaches the desired depth (approx. 10-12 rows) using double crochets or single crochets. Finish the top rim with a round of reverse single crochet (crab stitch) for a neat edge. Make 4 identical pockets.
???? 4. Assembly and Construction Attaching the Pockets: Place the 4 yellow pockets side by side onto the lower half of the brown circle. Sew the bottom bases and side edges securely to the main body using yellow yarn and a tapestry needle. Hanging Loop: At the very top peak of the sunflower, attach your yellow yarn to create a sturdy chain loop or thick strap. This will allow you to hang the organizer securely on a wall hook. Shaping: If needed for extra firmness, you can insert a piece of felt or thin cardboard cut to size inside the back, though a stiff macramé or t-shirt yarn will naturally hold its form well.
