Materials: Worsted weight yarn in various colors (for body, hat, and details) Beige yarn for the nose White or cream yarn for the beard Crochet hook (3.5mm or 4.0mm) Fiberfill stuffing Yarn needle Scissors Abbreviations: MR = Magic Ring SC = Single Crochet INC = Increase (2 SC in the same stitch) DEC = Decrease (SC 2 stitches together) HDC = Half Double Crochet SL ST = Slip Stitch Body: With the main color, create an MR, 6 SC into the ring (6). Round 2: INC in each stitch around (12). Round 3: (1 SC, INC) around (18). Round 4: (2 SC, INC) around (24). Rounds 5-12: SC around (24). Round 13: (2 SC, DEC) around (18). Stuff the body and continue decreasing until the opening closes. Fasten off.
Hat: With a contrasting color, create an MR, 4 SC into the ring (4). Round 2: INC in each stitch (8). Round 3: (1 SC, INC) around (12). Continue increasing every other round until the hat fits over the body. Finish with HDC for a decorative brim. Fasten off and weave in the ends. Beard: Cut strands of white yarn (about 4 inches long). Fold and attach as fringe along the bottom front of the hat. Trim and shape as desired. Nose: With beige yarn, create an MR, 6 SC (6). Round 2: SC around. Fasten off and sew onto the beard area. Assembly: Sew the hat onto the top of the body, placing it slightly tilted if desired. Attach the nose over the beard for a charming look.
