????️ Materials List Main Color Yarn: 3-4 skeins of cream or off-white thick amigurumi yarn (e.g., Lanoso Alara Mega, YarnArt Jeans Plus, or a medium-weight yarn used double-stranded). Detail Color Yarn: A small amount of pink fluffy/bouclé yarn or thin amigurumi yarn for the inner ears and paw details. Crochet Hook: 3.5 mm - 4.0 mm hook (or a size that matches your yarn to achieve tight, clean stitches without gaps). Safety Eyes: 12-14 mm blue safety cat eyes. Safety Nose: A small pink safety cat nose (alternatively, you can embroider it with pink yarn). Fiberfill Stuffing: Only for the head, arms, legs, and tail. (Since the main body functions as a bag, leave it empty; adding a felt liner or bag lining is recommended to help it keep its shape). Accessories: Metal bag ring/clasp, keychain attachment, and a sewing needle to secure the handle and parts. ???? Abbreviations & Terms MR: Magic Ring Sc: Single crochet Inc: Increase (2 single crochets in the same stitch) Dec: Decrease (Invisible decrease preferred) W: 3 single crochets in the same stitch Ch: Chain
???? Instructions and Stitch Counts 1. Main Body (Bag Section) We will start from the base of the bag and work our way up, decreasing gradually. To create an oval base, we will begin by working around a foundation chain. Round 1: Ch 25. Turn, starting from the 2nd ch from hook: 23 sc, W (3 sc) in the last chain stitch. Work along the opposite side of the chain: 22 sc, 1 inc in the last stitch = 50 sc Round 2: 1 inc, 22 sc, 3 inc, 22 sc, 2 inc = 56 sc Round 3: 1 sc, 1 inc, 22 sc, (1 sc, 1 inc)*3, 22 sc, (1 sc, 1 inc)*2 = 62 sc Round 4: 2 sc, 1 inc, 22 sc, (2 sc, 1 inc)*3, 22 sc, (2 sc, 1 inc)*2 = 68 sc Round 5: 3 sc, 1 inc, 22 sc, (3 sc, 1 inc)*3, 22 sc, (3 sc, 1 inc)*2 = 74 sc Round 6: 4 sc, 1 inc, 22 sc, (4 sc, 1 inc)*3, 22 sc, (4 sc, 1 inc)*2 = 80 sc Round 7: BLO (Back Loops Only) sc around = 80 sc (This row helps the base fold upward). Rounds 8 - 25 (18 Rounds): Sc around = 80 sc Round 26 (Decreases begin): (18 sc, 1 dec) * 4 = 76 sc Rounds 27 - 30 (4 Rounds): Sc around = 76 sc Round 31: (17 sc, 1 dec) * 4 = 72 sc Rounds 32 - 35 (4 Rounds): Sc around = 72 sc Round 36: (16 sc, 1 dec) * 4 = 68 sc Rounds 37 - 40 (4 Rounds): Sc around = 68 sc Fasten off. The top mouth of the bag will remain wide and open. 2. Head (Front Section) The cat has a chubby, flat face (a 3D relief style) reminiscent of a Persian cat. Since it will be sewn onto the front of the bag, the back will remain relatively flat while the front is contoured. Round 1: 6 sc in MR = 6 Round 2: 6 inc = 12 sc Round 3: (1 sc, 1 inc) * 6 = 18 sc Round 4: (2 sc, 1 inc) * 6 = 24 sc Round 5: (3 sc, 1 inc) * 6 = 30 sc Round 6: (4 sc, 1 inc) * 6 = 36 sc Round 7: (5 sc, 1 inc) * 6 = 42 sc Round 8: (6 sc, 1 inc) * 6 = 48 sc Round 9: (7 sc, 1 inc) * 6 = 54 sc Rounds 10 - 15 (6 Rounds): Sc around = 54 sc At this stage, insert the safety eyes between rounds 11 and 12, leaving about 8-9 stitches between them. Firmly stuff the cheek areas right below the eyes to give them that chubby look. Round 16: (7 sc, 1 dec) * 6 = 48 sc Round 17: (6 sc, 1 dec) * 6 = 42 sc Round 18: (5 sc, 1 dec) * 6 = 36 sc Stuff with fiberfill (keep the back slightly flat so it sits well against the bag, but make sure the cheeks are quite plush). Leave a long tail for sewing. ???? Muzzle / Snout Area (Cheek Puff): To get that adorable, fluffy muzzle structure, crochet a separate piece with the white yarn: Ch 6. Starting from 2nd ch from hook: 4 sc, W in the last chain stitch. Work along the bottom of the chain: 3 sc, 1 inc = 12 sc 1 inc, 3 sc, 3 inc, 3 sc, 2 inc = 18 sc Sc around for one round, then fasten off. Add a tiny bit of stuffing and sew it right below and centered between the eyes. Embroider the pink nose and mouth lines on top.
3. Ears (Make 2) Round 1: 4 sc in MR = 4 Round 2: (1 sc, 1 inc) * 2 = 6 sc Round 3: (1 sc, 1 inc) * 3 = 9 sc Round 4: (2 sc, 1 inc) * 3 = 12 sc Round 5: (3 sc, 1 inc) * 3 = 15 sc Round 6: (4 sc, 1 inc) * 3 = 18 sc Flatten the edges together and sc across to close. Embroider a small pink triangle inside using the pink fluffy yarn, or sew a tiny pink crocheted triangle onto the inner ear. 4. Front Arms / Paws (Make 2) Round 1: 6 sc in MR = 6 Round 2: 6 inc = 12 sc Rounds 3 - 5 (3 Rounds): Sc around = 12 sc Rounds 6 - 15 (10 Rounds): To create a slight curve for the arms, use: 3 dec, 6 sc = 9 sc (Note: Do not decrease every single round; just perform this decrease setup on round 6, and then work the remaining rounds evenly as 9 sc). Stuff lightly; these will be sewn onto the front surface of the bag curved slightly forward. 5. Hind Legs & Paw Pads (Make 2) We will add the cute pink paw prints seen in the picture here. Round 1: 6 sc in MR = 6 Round 2: 6 inc = 12 sc Round 3: (1 sc, 1 inc) * 6 = 18 sc Round 4: (2 sc, 1 inc) * 6 = 24 sc Rounds 5 - 8 (4 Rounds): Sc around = 24 sc Round 9: (2 sc, 1 dec) * 6 = 18 sc Round 10: (1 sc, 1 dec) * 6 = 12 sc Stuff with fiberfill. With pink yarn, make 1 large and 4 small tiny magic rings (6 sc inside each MR) and sew them onto the soles to mimic paw pads. 6. Bag Handle Ch 10 and join to form a ring, or work spirally. Sc 10 in every round until the handle reaches your desired length (approx. 30-35 cm). You can stuff it lightly with fiberfill or insert a thick cotton cord inside as you crochet to keep it sturdy.
???? Assembly and Details (1000108138.jpg) Attaching the Head: Position the head onto the upper-middle section of the bag (right below the opening rim). Make sure the cheek stuffing stays evenly distributed as you sew it down securely. Ears: Position the ears on the upper corners of the head, tilting them slightly forward, and sew them in place. Arms and Legs: Sew the front arms directly underneath the head, angling them toward the sides of the body. Secure the large hind paw pieces onto the very bottom base of the bag to give the impression that the cat is sitting down. Bag Handle: Securely sew both ends of the handle onto the inside rim of the bag's opening using durable thread. Accessory (Paw Keychain): Using your leftover pink and white yarn, you can crochet a small circle, style it like a little paw charm, and clip it onto the metal clasp on the side of the handle just like in the photo. To help the bag retain its structured, plump shape when used, I highly recommend lining the interior with stiff felt or a structured fabric lining. Happy crafting!
