???? Step-by-Step Instructions 1. Head (Skin Color) To give the head a smooth roundness and subtle cheek definition, we use staggered increases instead of standard stacked increases. Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6) Round 2: 6 inc (12) Round 3: (1 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (18) Round 4: (2 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (24) Round 5: (3 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (30) Round 6: (4 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (36) Round 7: (5 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (42) Round 8: (6 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (48) Round 9: (7 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (54) Round 10: (8 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (60) Rounds 11-21: (11 rounds) 60 sc Insert safety eyes between rounds 18 and 19, leaving a gap of 9–10 stitches between them. Round 22: (8 sc, 1 dec) * 6 (54) Round 23: (7 sc, 1 dec) * 6 (48) Round 24: (6 sc, 1 dec) * 6 (42) Round 25: (5 sc, 1 dec) * 6 (36) Start stuffing the head firmly with fiberfill. Push extra stuffing towards the cheek areas to shape them. Round 26: (4 sc, 1 dec) * 6 (30) Round 27: (3 sc, 1 dec) * 6 (24) Round 28: (2 sc, 1 dec) * 6 (18) Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Embroider a small horizontal nose 3 stitches wide, centered 1 round below the eyes. 2. Legs, Body, and Striped Dress The doll is built around a wire frame. The wire is inserted after completing the shoes and legs. Change colors every 2 rounds to create the black and white stripes. Right and Left Leg (Make 2) Start with black yarn for the boot sole: Round 1: Ch 7. Starting from the 2nd ch from hook: 5 sc, 3 sc in the last ch. Turn to work along the opposite side of the chain: 4 sc, 1 inc (14) Round 2: 1 inc, 4 sc, 3 inc, 4 sc, 2 inc (20) Round 3: 1 sc, 1 inc, 4 sc, (1 sc, 1 inc) * 3, 4 sc, (1 sc, 1 inc) * 2 (26) Round 4: BLO 26 sc Rounds 5-6: 26 sc Round 7: 7 sc, 6 dec, 7 sc (20) Round 8: 6 sc, 4 dec, 6 sc (16) Rounds 9-11: 16 sc (This completes the boot shaft) Round 12: Change to skin color and work in BLO: 16 sc Rounds 13-25: (13 rounds) 16 sc with skin color Round 26: Change to black yarn (Sock/Leggings start): 16 sc Rounds 27-30: Crochet 16 sc per round, alternating 2 rounds of White and 2 rounds of Black. Fasten off and cut the yarn for the first leg. Do not cut the yarn on the second leg; we will continue directly to joining them. Joining the Legs & Body From the end of the second leg, crochet a few additional stitches until you reach the exact center-back of the leg. Chain 3 and join to the inner center-back of the first leg with a single crochet. Round 31: 16 sc around the first leg, 3 sc along the chain, 16 sc around the second leg, 3 sc along the opposite side of the chain (38) Continue crocheting the body pattern with 2 rounds of black and 2 rounds of white stripes. Rounds 32-38: 38 sc Round 39: (Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the body): 36 sc Rounds 40-44: 36 sc At this stage, prepare your U-shaped insulated wire. Insert it down into both legs, twist/secure them together in the torso, and let it extend upward through the neck. Stuff the legs and body firmly with fiberfill. Round 45: (4 sc, 1 dec) * 6 (30) Rounds 46-48: 30 sc Round 49: (3 sc, 1 dec) * 6 (24) Round 50: Change to skin color (Neck). BLO 24 sc Round 51: (2 sc, 1 dec) * 6 (18) Rounds 52-54: 18 sc. Fasten off.
. Arms (Make 2) Start with skin color: Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6) Round 2: (1 sc, 1 inc) * 3 (9) Rounds 3–7: 9 sc Round 8: Change to black yarn (Sleeve start): 9 sc Continue the striped pattern, alternating 2 rounds of white and 2 rounds of black. Rounds 9–25: 9 sc Stuff the lower part of the arm lightly (leave the top part empty so the arms hang naturally against the body instead of sticking out). Flatten the opening and crochet across both sides with 4 sc to close. Leave a long tail for sewing. 4. Curly Hair Wig (Yellow) To create the voluminous curly hair seen in 1000103461.jpg, we will first crochet a base cap and then create curls on it by chaining and working back down. Hair Base Cap: Round 1: 6 sc in MR Round 2: 6 inc (12) Round 3: (1 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (18) Round 4: (2 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (24) Round 5: (3 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (30) Round 6: (4 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (36) Round 7: (5 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (42) Round 8: (6 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (48) Creating the Curly Strands: Do not cut the yarn after finishing the base cap; go straight into making the curls. The bangs at the front of the face are shorter, while the sides and back are longer. Back and Side Curls (For about 35 stitches): Chain 30, starting from the 2nd ch from hook, work 2 hdc in each chain all the way down. Sl st into the next stitch of the base cap. Repeat this process until the back and sides are full. (The strand will spiral naturally). Front Bangs (For the remaining front stitches): Chain 15, work 2 sc in each chain all the way down, sl st into the next stitch of the base cap.
5. Green Beret Crochet with green yarn using a slightly loose tension. Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6) Round 2: 6 inc (12) Round 3: (1 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (18) Round 4: (2 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (24) Round 5: (3 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (30) Round 6: (4 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (36) Round 7: (5 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (42) Round 8: (6 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (48) Round 9: (7 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (54) Round 10: (8 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (60) Round 11: (9 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (66) Rounds 12-16: 66 sc Round 17: (9 sc, 1 dec) * 6 (60) Round 18: (8 sc, 1 dec) * 6 (54) Round 19: 54 sc. Fasten off. For the bow: Using black yarn, chain 15 and crochet 4 rows of double crochets to make a rectangle. Wrap yarn around the center to pinch it into a bow shape, then sew it onto the beret. 6. Green Coat The coat is crocheted separately and worn over the doll. It is worked in rows (turning rows); ch 1 and turn at the end of each row. Row 1: Chain 26. Starting from 2nd ch from hook: 4 sc (front), 1 w, 4 sc (sleeve), 1 w, 6 sc (back), 1 w, 4 sc (sleeve), 1 w, 4 sc (front) Row 2: 1 sc in each stitch across. (Increase the raglan yoke by working a 'w' into the exact center stitch of the previous row's 'w'). Rows 3-6: Continue working rows while increasing at the corners to expand the yoke. Row 7 (Sleeve Separation): Crochet across the front stitches, skip the first sleeve opening entirely, crochet across the back stitches, skip the second sleeve opening, and crochet across the remaining front stitches. Rows 8-25: Crochet straight rows of single crochet (or half double crochet) until the coat reaches your desired length. For the Sleeves: Attach green yarn to the skipped sleeve openings and work in continuous rounds for about 12 rounds. Collar: Pick up stitches along the neckline of the coat and work upwards for 3 rows of hdc, then fold it outwards to create the lapel. 7. Flower Basket and Rose Bouquet Basket (Orange/Terracotta): Row 1: Chain 12. Turn and work an oval base by crocheting around both sides of the chain (using the same logic as the boot sole, expanding it until you have about 32 stitches). Round 2: BLO 32 sc. Rounds 3-12: 32 sc (It will form a deep box shape). Embroider vertical stripes on the front using black yarn, and add a small black bow to the center as seen in 1000103461.jpg.
Roses (Green - Make about 5–6): Chain 20. Starting from the 2nd ch from hook, work into each chain: (1 hdc, ch 1, 1 hdc in the same stitch), skip one chain, repeat in the next chain across. Roll the finished strip tightly into a spiral to form a rose shape, and secure it by sewing through the base. To add white buds in between, you can wrap green/black floral wire around small white spheres crocheted by working 6 sc in an MR and filling them with fiberfill. ???? Assembly and Finishing Touches Body and Head: Insert the extending neck wire securely into the head opening. Stuff around the wire heavily with fiberfill so the head doesn't wobble. Use a tapestry needle and skin-color yarn to sew the head to the body using a seamless mattress stitch. Arms: Sew the arms to the sides of the body right at the shoulder line, making sure they line up nicely before putting on the coat. Hair and Beret: Center the curly wig on the head and sew it in place (or secure it with fabric glue). Make sure the shorter bangs face forward. Sew the beret onto the hair at a slight tilt. Makeup: Use pink cosmetic blush or an amigurumi coloring pencil to gently rosy up the cheeks just under the eyes to replicate the sweet expression in the image.
