Leave a long tail for sewing. 4. Dress Skirt (With White Yarn) To get the wavy, voluminous look seen in the image (1000104563.jpg), attach the white yarn to the FLO (front loops) of Round 31 on the body: Round 1: inc in each loop all the way around. Round 2: (1 sc, 1 inc) all the way around. Round 3-10: sc in each st around until the skirt reaches your desired length. On the last round, you can work a reverse single crochet (crab stitch) or alternate (ch 1, sl st) in each stitch to create a ruffled edge.
5. Smurf Hat (With White Yarn) Consecutive increases are made to give the top of the hat its characteristic forward-sloping curve. Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6) Round 2: 6 inc (12) Round 3: 12 sc Round 4: (1 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (18) Round 5: 18 sc Round 6: (2 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (24) Round 7: 24 sc Round 8: (3 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (30) Round 9: To create the backward bulbous shape of the hat: inc in the first 10 stitches only (10 inc), then single crochet in the remaining 20 stitches (40) Round 10-15: sc in each st around for 6 rounds (40) Round 16: (4 sc, 1 inc) * 8 (48) Round 17-22: sc in each st around for 6 rounds (48) Round 23: (7 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (54) Round 24-28: sc in each st around for 5 rounds (54). Fasten off and tuck the edge slightly inward to style. 6. Hair (With Yellow Yarn) To replicate the flowing locks from the reference image (1000104563.jpg), latch-hooking strands of yarn is the best approach: Cut numerous strands of yellow yarn to a length of about 30-35 cm (12-14 inches). Place the hat temporarily on the head to identify which areas will remain visible (the front fringe and sides). Using your crochet hook, insert it into a stitch on the head, pull a loop of the strand through, and pull the tails through that loop to knot and secure it (fringe/latch-hook technique). Style the side bangs by sweeping them to the side as shown in the picture, optionally securing them with a few hidden stitches. ASSEMBLY AND FACIAL DETAILS Head to Body: If you are using a support wire, place it through the neck up into the head. Align the head symmetrically over the neck and sew the 18 corresponding stitches securely. Arms: Sew the arms right below the neck joint on the sides of the body. You can tilt them slightly forward so that they can hold a flower bouquet just like in the picture. Facial Features: Using black embroidery floss, stitch eyelashes above the eyes and curved eyebrows a bit higher up. Use red and black embroidery floss to stitch an open, happy smiling mouth. Hat: After attaching the hair, place the white hat onto the head. Bend the top curve forward and secure it with a few hidden stitches to maintain its shape. Your Amigurumi Smurfette doll is complete! Enjoy your crocheting!
