Round 8: (6 sc, 1 increase) repeat 6 times (Total: 48 sts). Rounds 9 - 18: Work even with 48 sc for 10 rounds. (Insert safety eyes between rounds 13 and 14, leaving about 8-9 stitches between them). Round 19: (6 sc, 1 decrease) repeat 6 times (Total: 42 sts). Round 20: (5 sc, 1 decrease) repeat 6 times (Total: 36 sts). Round 21: (4 sc, 1 decrease) repeat 6 times (Total: 30 sts). Rounds 23 - 27: Work 24 sc evenly for 5 rounds to form the neck. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
2. BEAK (Orange/Mustard Yarn) The beak is worked in a flat, oval shape. Round 1: Chain 5. Starting from the 2nd chain from the hook: 4 sc, 3 sc in the last chain. Working along the opposite side of the chain: 3 sc, 1 increase in the last stitch (Total: 12 sts). Round 2: 1 increase, 3 sc, 3 increases, 3 sc, 2 increases (Total: 18 sts). Round 3: 1 sc, 1 increase, 4 sc, 1 increase, 1 sc, 1 increase, 4 sc, 1 increase, 2 sc, 1 increase (Total: 24 sts). Rounds 4 - 6: Work 24 sc evenly for 3 rounds. Lightly stuff and flatten the opening, closing it by working single crochets across both sides. Leave a long tail for sewing. Sew it centrally right below the eyes. 3. BODY AND MESH SECTION (White Yarn) The body is crocheted using double crochets (dc) with spaces (mesh technique) so it functions as a bag/tissue dispenser holder, with a gathered bottom. Bottom Base: Start with 6 sc in a magic ring, increasing by 6 stitches each round (12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, 60 sts) until you form a flat circle base (about 9-10 rounds). Transition to Mesh Body: After finishing the base, switch to the mesh pattern: Stitch Technique: Chain 4 (counts as 1 double crochet + 1 chain space), skip 1 stitch, 1 double crochet (dc) in the next stitch, chain 1, skip 1 stitch, work 1 dc in the next. Repeat (1 dc, chain 1, skip 1) around. Repeat this mesh pattern until the body reaches the desired length (about 15-18 rounds). Top Opening: At the very top of the body, switch back to single crochets and decrease/gather the stitches down to match the neck width (24 stitches). 4. WINGS (Make 2 - White Yarn) The wings are shaped like leaves to layer flat against the body. Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring. Round 2: Increase in every stitch (12 sts). Round 3: (1 sc, 1 increase) repeat (18 sts). Round 4: (2 sc, 1 increase) repeat (24 sts). Rounds 5 - 10: Work 24 sc evenly for 6 rounds. Round 11: (2 sc, 1 decrease) to reduce stitches (18 sts). Rounds 12 - 14: Work 18 sc evenly. Lightly stuff or leave flat, fold in half, and sew closed. Attach symmetrically to both sides of the body.
5. FEET AND LEGS (Make 2 - Orange/Mustard Yarn) The feet dangle from the bottom of the duck. Toes and Foot Base: Chain 8, work around the chain in an oval shape with single crochets, adding increases at the front points to shape the webbed feet. Leg Tube: From the top of the foot base, pick up 10-12 stitches and work a tubular leg upwards for 5-6 rounds. Secure them inside the bottom base of the body. 6. HAT (Straw / Beige Yarn) A dome-shaped hat that sits atop the head. Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring. Round 2: Increase in every stitch (12 sts). Round 3: (1 sc, 1 increase) (18 sts). Round 4: (2 sc, 1 increase) (24 sts). Round 5: (3 sc, 1 increase) (30 sts). Round 6: (4 sc, 1 increase) (36 sts). Round 7: (5 sc, 1 increase) (42 sts). Round 8: (6 sc, 1 increase) (48 sts). Rounds 9 - 13: Work 48 sc evenly to form the crown. Brim: Increase stitches around the edge to flare outward: Work a (3 sc, 1 increase) round expanding outward for 2-3 rows to create the brim. Hanging Loop: Chain about 30-40 stitches from the top center of the hat and anchor it back down to form a loop for wall hanging. Crochet a tiny white and yellow daisy motif and attach it to the side of the hat. 7. NECK BOW (Green Yarn) A neat bow that decorates the neck area. Bow Wings: Chain 15, turn and work a rectangular piece using single or double crochets. Pinch two rectangular pieces in the middle to form a bow shape. Center Wrap: Wrap a small strip tightly around the center of the bow and secure it. Add trailing ribbon ends made with chains and double crochets right beneath the bow.
???? Assembly Guide Head and Body: Firmly sew the top opening of the mesh body to the narrow neck portion of the head using a yarn needle. Beak and Eyes: Sew the beak right in the center of the face. Position safety eyes directly above the beak. Wings: Sew the wings symmetrically onto the upper left and right sides of the body. Feet: Secure the legs firmly inside the bottom base of the body so they dangle downward. Accessories: Place the hat on top of the head and secure it with a few stitches. Attach the bow around the neck to complete the project.
