Body (Striped Pumpkin) ​The body is worked in flat rows using BLO to create a ribbed texture, then sewn into a tube and shaped into a pumpkin. ​Alternate colors every 2 rows: Red, Green, White. ​Row 1: Ch 26. Starting in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across (25 sc). Ch 1, turn. ​Rows 2–48: In BLO only, sc 25, ch 1, turn. (Repeat color sequence for 48–54 rows until desired fullness is reached). ​Assembly & Shaping: ​Fold the rectangle into a tube and join the two short sides using sl st or a tapestry needle. ​Weave a strand of yarn through the bottom edge, pull tight to close, and knot securely. ​Stuff firmly with fiberfill. ​Weave a strand of yarn through the top edge, pull tightly to gather, add extra stuffing if needed, and close. ​Pass a long strand of yarn through the center (top to bottom) a few times and pull gently to create the flattened pumpkin shape.

Hat (Red and Green) ​Start with Red yarn: ​Rnd 1: 4 sc in magic ring (4) ​Rnd 2: (1 sc, 1 inc) * 2 (6) ​Rnd 3: (2 sc, 1 inc) * 2 (8) ​Rnd 4: (3 sc, 1 inc) * 2 (10) ​Rnd 5: (4 sc, 1 inc) * 2 (12) ​Rnd 6: (1 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (18) ​Rnd 7: (2 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (24) ​Rnd 8: sc in each st around (24) ​Hanging Loop: ​At the top tip of the hat, join Red yarn, ch 15–20, and sl st into the same stitch to secure. ​Ruffled Brim (Green Yarn): ​Switch to Green yarn: ​Rnd 9: In FLO only, (1 sc, 1 inc) * 12 or work 2 dc in each stitch around for a wavy ruffle effect. Sl st to finish off. ​3. Collar / Ruffle (Green Yarn) ​Rnd 1: Ch 20, sl st to first ch to form a ring (ensure it fits around the neck/bottom of the wooden bead). ​Rnd 2: Work 3 dc in each chain around to create the ruffle effect. ​Rnd 3: Sl st to finish, fasten off leaving a tail for sewing. ​Assembly ​Prepare the Bead: If using a blank bead, draw the facial features using a fine marker and add a touch of blush to the cheeks. ​Attach Body & Bead: Thread a needle with strong yarn, pass it through the top of the pumpkin body and through the hole of the wooden bead to secure them together. ​Attach Collar: Place the ruffled collar around the base of the bead/neck and sew or glue it into place. ​Attach Hat: Place the hat on top of the bead.
