???? PART 1: Standard Body and Head Templates We will apply these templates based on the sizes of the dolls. For all dolls, the legs are crocheted individually first, then joined with chains to continue upwards for the body. Head Pattern (General Template for All Sizes) Note: For the large size, we increase up to 72sc; for the medium size, up to 66sc; and for the small size, up to 54sc. Large Size Head (Girl in Yellow Dress & Boy in Green Sweater) 6sc in MR 6inc = 12sc (1sc, 1inc) * 6 = 18sc (2sc, 1inc) * 6 = 24sc (3sc, 1inc) * 6 = 30sc (4sc, 1inc) * 6 = 36sc (5sc, 1inc) * 6 = 42sc (6sc, 1inc) * 6 = 48sc (7sc, 1inc) * 6 = 54sc (8sc, 1inc) * 6 = 60sc (9sc, 1inc) * 6 = 66sc (10sc, 1inc) * 6 = 72sc 13-27. 72sc around (15 rows) (Insert safety eyes between rows 21 and 22, leaving a space of 10-11 stitches between them). (10sc, 1dec) * 6 = 66sc (9sc, 1dec) * 6 = 60sc (8sc, 1dec) * 6 = 54sc (7sc, 1dec) * 6 = 48sc (6sc, 1dec) * 6 = 42sc (5sc, 1dec) * 6 = 36sc (4sc, 1dec) * 6 = 30sc (3sc, 1dec) * 6 = 24sc (Stuff firmly with fiberfill) (2sc, 1dec) * 6 = 18sc, fasten off. Medium Size Head: Grow the template above until row 11 (66sc). Crochet rows 12-24 as a flat 66sc. Insert eyes between rows 18-19. Decrease down to 18sc and fasten off. Small Size Head: Grow the template until row 9 (54sc). Crochet rows 10-20 as a flat 54sc. Insert eyes between rows 15-16 with an 8-stitch gap. Decrease down to 12sc or 15sc and fasten off.
Leg and Body Joining Template 1. Large Size Body (Boy on the Right & Girl in Yellow Dress) Legs (Make 2): Using the shoe color, chain 6. Starting from the 2nd ch from hook: 4sc, 3sc in the last ch. Work along the other side of the chain: 3sc, 1inc = 12sc 1inc, 4sc, 3inc, 3sc, 2inc = 18sc 1sc, 1inc, 4sc, 1inc, (1sc, 1inc)*2, 5sc, 1inc = 23sc BLO 23sc (To shape the sole of the shoe) 5-6. 23sc around 6sc, 4dec, 9sc = 19sc (Decreasing from the front section) 5sc, 3dec, 8sc = 16sc -> Change to skin color. 9-25. 16sc around using skin color. Joining the Body: Do not cut the yarn after finishing the second leg. Chain 3 and attach to the inner middle side of the first leg with a single crochet. 1st Leg circumference (16sc) + Over the chains (3sc) + 2nd Leg circumference (16sc) + Back of the chains (3sc) = Total 38sc. Crochet these 38sc upwards for rows 26-38 to form the body. (For the girl doll, you can use skin color since it will be covered by the dress; for the boy doll, you can start with the pants color). For rows 39-44, decrease 2 stitches from the sides on each row to bring the stitch count down to 24sc. Rows 45-46: Crochet 18sc with skin color for the neck and leave a long tail for sewing the head. Medium Size Body (Boy in Striped T-Shirt on the Left): Crochet legs until they are 14sc. Join them with 3 chains in between. Your total stitch count will be 34sc. Crochet 12 rows up to the arm and neck level, decrease from the shoulders, and finish the neck with 15sc. Small Size Body (The Two Front Dolls): Legs are crocheted to 12sc. Join them with 2 chains in between. Total stitch count is 28sc. The body height is kept shorter (approx. 10-11 rows) and the neck is completed with 12sc.
???? PART 2: Individual Doll Details and Clothing 1. Large Girl Doll in Yellow Dress Dress: You can work the dress either by attaching yarn to the BLO sections left while crocheting the body, or by crocheting it separately. For a separate dress: Chain equal to the waist measurement and join. Crochet 2 rows of single crochet, then increase in every stitch (inc) to create the skirt fullness. Embroider the tiny daisies on it using white and yellow sewing thread in a French knot or cross-stitch pattern. Hat: Start with the yellow yarn using the head template. After reaching 72sc, crochet straight until it reaches the depth that fits the head perfectly (approx. 12 rows). On the last row, work FLO and increase in every stitch (inc) to create the flared brim of the hat. Hair: Crochet a wig-like base using brown yarn for the back of the head. Leave long strands on the sides, braid them into 3-strand braids, and tie the ends with a ribbon. 2. Large Boy Doll in Green Sweater Pants: Use brown yarn for the legs and continue with brown up to the body junction. After the body is completed, work 1 row of reverse single crochet or half double crochet in FLO at the bottom of the legs to give a shorts cuff effect. Sweater: Crocheted with green yarn. You can give the sweater effect by crocheting the upper part of the body in green. For the turtleneck detail, attach green yarn to the FLO loops of the neck and crochet 1 single crochet, 1 increase using half double crochets for 2 rows. Hair: Using brown yarn, individual strands of hair are chained and rooted into the head, then sewn down to look styled backwards and to the sides.
3. Medium Boy Doll in Striped T-Shirt (Left) T-Shirt Stripes: Change yarn colors every 2 rows of blue and 2 rows of white while crocheting the body to achieve the striped t-shirt effect. Shorts: The lower body from the joining point is crocheted with denim blue yarn. To make the shorts cuffs look slightly rolled up, finish the last row in white or sew it folded backwards. Hair: To give it a spiky and dynamic look on top, chain 8 to 10 for each hair strand, single crochet back down, and sew them onto the head (Spike hair model). 4. Small Girl Doll in Pink Dress (Front) Dress: Crocheted with pink yarn. For the white ruffle detail at the hem of the skirt, secure white yarn to the very last row of the dress and work (1sc, ch 2, 1sc in the same stitch) in each loop to capture a wavy ruffle look. Hair: Designed with tiny buns on two sides. Do 6sc, 12sc, 18sc in a magic ring, crochet 3 rows flat, stuff lightly, and sew onto both sides of the head. 5. Small Boy Doll in Orange Overalls (Front) Overalls: An orange overall is worn over a white t-shirt. The upper part of the body is crocheted in white. The lower part and the overall section are finished with orange yarn. For the straps, pull 2 long chain strands from the back to the front, and make tiny button embroideries on the front with yellow/cream yarn. Hair: The hair is brown and processed onto the head in short strands to form a slight fringe/bangs falling forward. ???? PART 3: Assembly Head and Body: Make sure the stuffing inside the body is very firm. Insert the neck support piece inside the neck. Sew the head onto the neck symmetrically matching the stitches (for example, if both sides have 18sc) using a slip stitch or invisible seam technique. Arms: Arms are crocheted as thin strips compared to the body (6sc in a magic ring, then worked flat for 15-22 rows depending on the size). Stuff very lightly with fiberfill and sew onto the body at shoulder level with flat stitches. Facial Shaping: After attaching the safety eyes, pull skin-colored yarn from just under the eyes through to the back of the head to create slight eye sockets. For the nose, make 3-4 horizontal wraps with skin-colored yarn right between the two eyes, 1 row down. Gently color the cheeks using blush.
