Mane (Fluffy / Ruffled Part) For the fluffy, signature lion mane, you can choose one of two popular methods: Crocheted Ruffle/Bobble Method: Create a foundation chain or loop base around the back of the head and neck. Work multiple double crochets (e.g., 3–4 DC or bobble stitches) into each stitch to create a thick, wavy, ruffled layer. Latch-Hook / Fringe Method: Work a foundation chain ring around the head, then attach strands of mane yarn individually using latch-hook or fringe knots, and brush/fluff them out if using brushed yarn. 8. Tail Magic ring into 5 SC Work straight 5 SC until the tail reaches your desired length (approx. 12–15 rounds). Add a small yarn tassel or pom-pom to the tip, and sew the base to the lower back of the body.
Assembly Order Prepare the Body: Ensure the body base is stuffed evenly so it sits stably. Limbs: Sew the bottom legs symmetrically to the lower sitting area of the body. Then, attach the arms to the upper sides. Facial Details: Pin the muzzle patch below the eyes and sew it on. Embroider the nose and whiskers. Ears: Attach the ears to the top of the head, aligned with the mane. Mane: Create or attach the mane around the back and sides of the head. Attaching Head to Body: Firmly sew the remaining stitches of the head to the top opening of the body using secure darning techniques so the head remains stable. Tail: Fasten the tail to the lower rear side of the body.
