Required Materials Yarn: Cotton yarn in skin color, white, red, brown, and gold (or embroidery thread). Hook: 2.0 mm or 2.5 mm crochet hook suitable for your yarn. Stuffing: Fiberfill (poly-fill). Details: Embroidery needle, black and red embroidery thread (for heart and facial details), wire for shaping (optional). 1. Head and Face The head is crocheted with a defined jawline rather than a traditional round shape. Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6). Round 2: Inc in every stitch (12). Round 3: (1 sc, 1 inc) * 6 (18). Round 4-8: Continue increasing until you reach 48 sc. Round 9-18: 48 sc (work even). Round 19 (Jaw & Cheeks): Increase 3 times on each side to create cheekbone definition. Decreasing: Start decreasing (6 sc, 1 dec) until 12 sc remain. Stuff firmly. Facial Details: Embroider eyes between rounds 14-15. Add the beard and mustache details under the nose using brown thread with a backstitch technique.
2. Body (White Section) The body is worked from the bottom up. Base: Start with 8 sc in a magic ring. Increase by 8 sc each round until you reach 64 sc. Raising: Work in BLO (Back Loops Only) to start moving upwards. Shaping: Decrease 2 stitches from the sides every 5 rounds as you move toward the waist and shoulders. Shoulders: Finish the neck area with 15 sc remaining. 3. Arms and Hands Fingers are crocheted separately and then joined. Fingers: 4 sc in magic ring, work for 3 rounds (Make 5 for each hand). Palm: Join the fingers side-by-side with sc and work for 2-3 rounds. Arm: Switch to white yarn. Continue from wrist to shoulder, increasing slightly (up to approx. 20 sc). 4. Red Cloak (Draped Part) This is the most important part of the model. Use dc (double crochet) instead of sc for a better drape. Construction: Crochet a large rectangular piece. Add patterns along the edges using gold thread with slip stitches or sc. Assembly: Secure it diagonally across the right shoulder (as seen in the reference) and create folds. Use hidden stitches to keep the drapes in place.
5. Hair and Heart Detail Hair: Chain various lengths (approx. 40-50 chains) with brown yarn. Work 1 row of sc back along the chain to create "curls." Sew these curls from the top of the head downwards. Sacred Heart: Crochet a small oval with red yarn (6 sc in MR, then inc to 12 sc, then 1 row of 12 sc). Stuff lightly and close. Embroider "rays" and surrounding details with gold thread. Assembly Tips Wire Usage: To keep the figure upright, I recommend placing an insulated copper wire through the body up into the neck. Gold Details: Add a rich look by embroidering gold chain stitches on the sleeve cuffs and cloak edges. Feet: For a sandal effect, crochet a small oval base in skin color and add straps using brown yarn. Terminology Guide (Kısaltmalar): sc: Single crochet (Sık iğne) dc: Double crochet (İkili tırabzan) inc: Increase (Artırma) dec: Decrease (Eksiltme) BLO: Back loops only (Arka loptan örmek) MR: Magic Ring (Sihirli halka)
