???? Material List Yarns: Red yarn (for the hat and nose) White yarn (for the beard, hat trim, pom-pom, and mustache) Beige / Skin-color yarn (for the face base) Pink yarn (for the cheeks) Crochet Hook: Appropriate for your yarn weight (Typically, 2.2 mm - 2.5 mm hooks work well with cotton-blend yarns like Gazzal Baby Cotton or Alize Cotton Gold). Other Materials: Safety eyes (approx. 6 mm - 8 mm) or black embroidery floss. A small amount of fiberfill stuffing (for the nose and pom-pom). Tapestry needle (for sewing parts together). Scissors. ???? Part-by-Part Instructions and Stitch Counts 1. Main Face Base (Circle / Back Foundation) The project starts with a circular base crocheted in double crochet (dc) stitches into a magic ring. Round 1: Make 12 double crochets (dc) in a magic ring, join with a slip stitch (sl st). Round 2: Increase in every stitch around (total of 24 dc). Round 3: Repeat (1 dc, 1 increase) all the way around (total of 36 dc). Note: Following the pattern in the visual, the beard waves (puffs/shells) are worked along the bottom edge of this base using white yarn (e.g., shell stitches made by working 5–6 double crochets into the same stitch).
2. Beard (White Section) The beard consists of lace-like or bobble/shell motifs framing the lower half of the face. Attach white yarn to the lower half of the base. Work 5 or 6 double crochets into the same stitch to form a "shell" motif, skip a space, and secure with a single crochet (sc) in the next stitch to create the wavy beard edge. Mustache (2 pieces): Crocheted with white yarn into a magic ring or by chaining and working single crochets and half double crochets (HDC) to give a curved shape. Sew both pieces so they meet in the center right under the nose. 3. Hat (Red Section and White Trim) Hat Base (Red): Using red yarn, work double crochets in rows or semi-circles matching the upper half of the face, decreasing/increasing along the edges to shape the folded tip of the hat. Hat Trim (White): Along the seam where the hat meets the face, work Bobble Stitches or double crochets over single crochets to create a thick, plush fur effect. Hanging Loop: At the tip of the hat, chain 10-12 stitches and slip stitch back into the same base to form a small hanging loop. Hat Pom-Pom: With white yarn, make 6 single crochets in a magic ring, increase in the 2nd round to form a small ball, stuff with a tiny bit of fiberfill, gather closed, and sew to the tip of the hat. 4. Nose (Red) Round 1: Make 6 single crochets (sc) in a magic ring with red yarn. Round 2: Increase in every stitch around (12 sc). Round 3: Work even in single crochet. Stuff lightly with fiberfill, gather closed, and sew right in the center above the mustache. 5. Cheeks (Pink, 2 pieces) With pink yarn, make 6 single crochets in a magic ring, join with a slip stitch, and cut the yarn. Sew right below the eyes.
???? Assembly Steps Base and Face: Align the face details over your completed circle base. Eyes and Cheeks: Insert the safety eyes right above the nose position. Sew or glue the pink cheeks right beneath the outer corners of the eyes. Mustache and Nose: Position the mustache pieces just below the eyes so they meet in the middle, and sew them down. Sew the red pom-pom nose directly over the center junction where the two mustache pieces meet. Hat: Position the red hat onto the upper part of the face and sew it securely in place. Check the hat pom-pom and hanging loop.Once you complete all the parts and assemble them in this order, your lovely Christmas ornament will be ready!
