What did I use for Beagle Bram: Yarn Yarn and Colors, color white, approximately 33 grams used Yarn Yarn and Colors, color black, approximately 27 grams used Yarn Cotone, color no. 037, approximately 48 grams used Leftover pink yarn for the soles of the feet and tongue Leftover blue yarn for the scarf Leftover light blue yarn from a Kruidvat yarn package for the basket Crochet hook 2.25 mm, dog Crochet hook 5 mm, basket Filling Gravel and black sock Safety eyes, 12x9 mm Darning needle, pins and stitch markers The head, blaze and ears I made Bram's head first. Because this was my fifth dog, it worked out fine. Only the ears were different, bigger. And I think they are so cute :-).
The body with belly spotThe body and belly spot hook away nicely. To make the dog sit better I always put a sock with gravel in it.
Legs, arms and tail The legs and arms I did exactly as the pattern. The tail I adjusted. Rounds 1 to 14 I did white, rounds 15 to 19 I did in brown and the remaining rounds in black.
Assembling the dog After four dogs I have good examples :-). The difference with Beagle Bram is only that I put his head at an angle to the body
The basket This is the first time I crocheted a basket for one of my dogs. The pattern of the basket is free on the site of MyKrissieDolls . I crocheted this basket with a ball from a Kruidvat yarn package, 50 grams – 72 meters. This yarn was suitable for a 6 mm crochet hook, but I chose a 5 mm crochet hook. After 11 rounds I noticed that my basket was getting too small for Bram, so I chose to make the basket bigger. I increased 4 extra rounds, I ended with 90 single crochets. Rounds 12-13 from the pattern became rounds 16-17 with 90 single crochets. Round 14 became round 18 with 30 single crochets. Round 15 became round 19 with 75 single crochets. The last round became 115 single crochets for me.
Scarf I had trouble with the scarf again. Even though this is my third scarf. I find the increase at the beginning and end of the round especially difficult at the beginning of the scarf. I embroidered a pattern with the yarn of the basket and a bit of white cotton.
