To match the triangle patch in the image, crochet the central 14 stitches of the face in cream, and the rest in pink. Rounds 15-18 (4 rounds): 60 sc Placing the Eyes: Insert the safety eyes between rounds 13 and 14, leaving about 8-9 stitches of space between them. Flatten the top opening and close it by crocheting 9 sc across both sides. ### 5. Hind Thighs & Paws (Make 2) To achieve the chubby sitting form shown in the photo, the back legs are made in two separate parts and then assembled. Hind Paws (Start with Cream, then switch to Pink): Follow the exact same pattern as the front legs up to Round 8 (until you have 18 stitches). Crochet 18 sc for Rounds 9-13, then fasten off. Assembly and Sculpting Details ### 1. Deep Face Sculpting (Art Doll Technique) To capture that expressive, lifelike look from the photo, thread a long needle with strong pink or matching thread: Insert the needle from the open bottom of the head (the neck area) and bring it out right under the bottom corner of the right eye. Move one stitch over, insert the needle, and bring it back down through the neck opening. Pull tightly to indent the eye socket and knot securely. Repeat the exact same process for the left eye. This sculpting forces the cheeks to pop forward into a cute, chubby expression. Using pink embroidery floss, embroider an upside-down "T" or a small triangle onto the cream muzzle to make the nose. Bring a line down slightly to define the mouth. ### 2. Attaching the Pieces to the Body Head and Body: Sew the 24-stitch opening of the head directly onto the top of the body, matching stitch for stitch. To keep the head from wobbling, pack extra fiberfill into the neck right before finishing the seam. Front Legs: Pin and sew them right under the neck area, close together so the cat stands tall. You can angle the paws slightly outward. Hind Thighs & Paws: First, sew the round, chubby thigh pieces to the lower right and left sides of the body. Next, sew the cream-tipped hind paws underneath these thighs, extending forward next to the front legs. Ears: Curve them slightly and sew them onto the top of the head, centering them over the eyes. ### 3. Finishing Touches and Brushing Fluffing: If you used a mohair blend yarn, use a stiff baby hairbrush or the hook side of a clean velcro strip to gently brush out the cheeks and body. This creates that ultra-soft, fluffy look from the reference image. Collar: Chain 25-30 (or enough to fit your cat's neck) and work 1 row of Half Double Crochet (hdc) to create a small strap. Attach the tiny bell to the center and fasten it around the neck.
