Sew or glue the pink inner ear piece inside the black outer ear. 3. Front Paws (Make 2 - Black Yarn) Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR (6) Rnds 2–5: sc in all 6 sts (6) Flatten the opening and sc 3 across to close. Stuff very lightly or leave un-stuffed. 4. Tail (Black Yarn) Rnd 1: 5 sc in MR (5) Rnds 2–9: sc in all 5 sts (5) Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. 5. Pumpkin Basket (Orange Yarn) Worked flat in ribbing stitch to create the textured ridges. Ch 13 (determines the depth of the basket). Starting in 2nd ch from hook, 12 sc, ch 1, turn. Pattern: Work BLO sc for all remaining rows. Ch 1 and turn at the end of each row: 12 BLO sc across for 32–36 rows (until the ribbed strip wraps around the cat's body comfortably). Joining: Join the two short ends together using slip stitches (sl st) to form a tube/cylinder. Closing the Bottom: Thread orange yarn onto a tapestry needle, weave through the edge of the bottom opening, pull tightly to gather and close the base. Shaping: Lightly stuff the base of the basket to create a bowl shape that fits the cat body.
6. Pumpkin Leaf (Green Yarn) Ch 6. Starting in 2nd ch from hook: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 hdc, (1 sc, ch 1, 1 sc in the last ch). Working along the opposite side of the chain: 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc. Sl st to first st to finish. Fasten off. Assembly & Finishing Cat Assembly: Sew the ears symmetrically to the top sides of the head. Cat into Basket: Place the cat inside the pumpkin basket. Secure the cat inside by sewing a few hidden stitches from the rim of the basket to the cat's body. Paws & Tail: Sew the two front paws onto the front rim of the basket so they appear to be hanging over the edge. Sew the tail to the side/back of the basket, curling it slightly. Leaf: Sew the green leaf to the front edge of the basket near one of the paws. Keychain Attachment: Securely attach the keychain ring chain to the top center of the cat's head.
